All set? Great! Let’s get started.
Understanding Flows
There are three types of Flows: Health, Growth, and Grind.
Health Flows help you focus on your physical health. During your Health Flow, you could:
go for a run, 🏃♀️
head to the gym, 🏋️♀️
eat a healthy snack, 🥗
… or anything else that keeps you healthy.
In Flowductive, Health Flows are represented using red cards.
Growth Flows help you focus on your mental health. During your Growth Flow, you could:
meditate, 🧘♀️
call old friends, 📞
try an art project, 🎨
… or anything else that helps you relax and get in touch with yourself.
In Flowductive, Growth Flows are represented using green cards.
Finally, Grind Flows help you focus on getting your work done. During your Grind Flow, you could:
do homework, 📝
get up-to-date on emails, ✉️
file your taxes, 💸
… or anything else related to doing work.
Build a Deck
First thing’s first — we need to create a deck of Flows. Go to the Customize bottom on the bottom of your screen. There, we can create the perfect deck.
Now, some days might call for more focus on specific areas of productivity. For instance, if you’re overdue on an assignment, you may want to prioritize Grind Flows. Or, if you are feeling out-of-shape, maybe Health Flows are in high demand.
So, to focus on those areas, Flow Priorities are here to help. Use the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons to choose how important each Flow is to you:
On the right, a Deck is generated for you. You can click on the deck to get a preview of each Flow:
It looks like this deck has three long Grind cards and a shorter Growth card.
If you don’t think these Flows will fit into your day, try randomizing your Flows using the Randomize button.
And once you have found a deck that works for you, click or tap Use this Deck to return to the home page.
Start your Deck
Now, our deck is ready. It’s time to begin our first Flow. To do so, click or tap Start my Deck:
When you do so, your first Flow will appear on the screen. In this case, our first Flow is a 45-minute Grind card:
When you’re ready, start your Grind Flow. Once you tap or press Start Grind Flow, the 45-minute timer will begin, and you should get to grinding!
The progress bar in the middle of the screen will keep track of your total time in your Flow.
Your goal is to stay focused until the timer ends. You’ll get a notification on your device when that happens, so don’t worry about checking your phone or computer.
Keeping it Flexible
Flows are designed to be flexible. One reason behind this is that you can start a Flow at any time. Also, if something comes up during your Flow, you can always pause a Flow. You can also skip your Flows, start your Flow over, or cancel your entire deck if needed.
Finish your Deck
Every time a Flow ends, the card will disappear and the next one will show up. You can always start your next Flow whenever you’d like.
Try your best to finish every Flow before the day ends. When you do, you’ll be rewarded with confetti and a total count of the time you’ve spent in each area!
And that’s it!
You’re ready to start using Flowductive daily to keep you more productive. Use Flows to focus on productive areas, and you’ll achieve a balanced lifestyle in no time.
